Taking Control: Building Skills to Improve Cognitive Challenges in Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a chronic neurologic disease that impacts approximately 3.5 million people in the United States. Over half of people living with epilepsy report difficulties with cognition. This can include problems with attention, thinking, learning, remembering, reasoning and planning.
HOBSCOTCH (Home-Based Self-Management and Cognitive Training Changes Lives) is an epilepsy self-management program designed to assist people manage and cope with their cognitive problems in order to feel more in control and lead happier more productive lives.
Problem Solving Therapy is a key component of the HOBSCOTCH program.
